On World Food Day, an international day to commemorate the date of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, our Entrepreneur-in-Residence Sasha Eremina showcased BioP at Venture Café London’s Thursday Gathering about Securing the Future of Food.

The event, organised in partnership with the Advanced Research + Invention Agency, resonated with BioP’s mission to bring to market late blight- and virus- resistant potato varieties to secure access to food in a world threatened by plant disease.

At her stand, Sasha showed how susceptible and resistant potato slices respond to late blight infection. That attracted many curious plant engineers and potato enthusiasts, and she had a chance to share BioP’s progress at the end of the field trial season.

The World Food Day event was a success and we look forward to more like this to talk about BioP’s technology and mission!
